Design

The Honor X6c 4G is surprisingly lightweight at 199g, making it comfortable for one-handed use. Its glossy plastic back resists fingerprints well, and the curved edges enhance grip. The Ocean Cyan color adds a vibrant touch, while the side-mounted fingerprint sensor (integrated into the power button) is fast and reliable, unlocking the device in under a second. With an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, it’s durable enough for everyday mishaps, surviving light rain or accidental drops up to 1.5m. The included silicone case adds extra protection without adding bulk.

Display

The 6.61-inch TFT LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate is a standout for a budget phone, offering smooth scrolling through social media or casual games like Temple Run. However, the 720 x 1604 resolution (266 PPI) means text and icons can appear slightly pixelated up close. At 1010 nits peak brightness, it’s usable outdoors but requires shading in direct sunlight. Compared to the AMOLED displays on pricier rivals like the Redmi Note 14, colors lack punch, and blacks aren’t as deep, but the eye-comfort mode makes nighttime reading pleasant.

Camera Configuration

The Honor X6c 4G’s dual-camera system, led by a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, PDAF), delivers decent daylight shots with good color accuracy and detail for social media. The QVGA depth sensor aids in portrait mode, producing a respectable bokeh effect, though edge detection falters with complex backgrounds. In low light, images show noticeable noise and loss of detail, trailing behind competitors like the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G. The 5MP selfie camera is basic, capturing usable shots in good lighting but struggling in dim settings. Video recording tops out at 1080p@30fps, with decent color but no stabilization, leading to shaky footage. The dedicated AI button enhances the experience, enabling features like AI Eraser for removing unwanted objects in photos.

Charging and Battery Life

The 5300mAh battery is a highlight, lasting up to two days with moderate use (browsing, messaging, and streaming). Even heavy users can expect a full day’s power. The 35W fast charging fills the battery to 50% in about 25 minutes, which is impressive for a budget phone. While it lacks wireless charging, the included 35W charger and USB-C cable ensure you’re ready to go out of the box. Compared to the Redmi 13C, the X6c’s battery life is a step ahead.

Software Experience

Running MagicOS 9.0 on Android 15, the Honor X6c 4G offers a clean, user-friendly interface with features like App Twin for dual app instances and a customizable AI button for quick access to Google Lens or other apps. The system handles daily tasks like browsing and messaging smoothly, though heavy multitasking with multiple apps can cause occasional reloads. Security updates arrive every few months, but the OS update cycle is shorter than premium devices. Pre-installed Honor apps can feel intrusive, but they’re manageable.

The Honor X6c 4G is a compelling budget smartphone, offering a smooth 120Hz display, exceptional battery life, and a decent camera for its price. Its lightweight design and expandable storage make it practical for casual users, while the AI button adds a modern touch. However, the lack of 5G, average low-light camera performance, and modest chipset hold it back from competing with mid-range devices like the Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G. For students, first-time smartphone buyers, or those prioritizing battery life and affordability, the Honor X6c 4G is a smart investment in 2025.
