Pros

You’re looking at about for this thing, and honestly, the 5000mAh battery just keeps going—like, you can forget your charger at home and still survive the day.

• That 90Hz IPS LCD? Super smooth for the price, scrolling through Insta or whatever feels way less choppy than you’d expect.

• Plus, the microSD slot takes up to 512GB, so go wild with your memes and photos.

• Old-school 3.5mm jack and dual speakers? Heck yes, no need to ditch your wired headphones yet.

Cons

720p resolution though… yeah, it’s not exactly sharp. If you stare, you’ll notice.

• That Helio G50 chip starts sweating if you push it with too many apps at once.

• And 15W charging for a 5000mAh battery? Get comfy, you’ll be waiting a bit.

• No 5G either, but at this price, come on, not surprising.

Design

This phone’s got a pretty sleek thing going on—it measures 165.62 x 77.01 x 8.35 mm, weighs in at about 190g (give or take), and it’s slim enough to just toss in your pocket. You get a glass front, plastic back and frame, so don’t expect it to survive a drop from Mount Everest, but it’ll handle daily bumps. The IP54 rating is actually kind of wild for a budget phone—dust and splash resistance isn’t something you usually get this cheap. Startrail Black and Glittery White are the colors, both pretty flashy, but heads up: that plastic back’s gonna scratch if you don’t use a case.

2.  Display

You’re getting a 6.67" IPS LCD, 90Hz refresh, and 720 x 1600 resolution (about 263 PPI, if you’re counting). Scrolling is smooth as butter, videos are alright, and it’s bright enough to use outside. Not as punchy as AMOLED, but hey, at this price, it’s decent. That big screen-to-body ratio is nice, but you will see some pixel fuzz if you look closely, especially on tiny text.

3. Entry-Level Performance

It’s running on a MediaTek Helio G50 (12nm), with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Translation: It’s fine for WhatsApp, YouTube, and Candy Crush, but don’t try to edit videos or play Genshin Impact or anything crazy. You get 3GB or 4GB RAM, plus Android 14 Go Edition, so it’s built for phones that don’t have a ton of memory. Heavy apps? Expect lag. Oh, and only a year of OS updates, which is kind of meh, but not shocking for a budget phone.

4. Basic Cameras

Main shooter is 13MP (f/1.8, PDAF), with AI stuff and HDR, plus a dual LED flash. It’s solid if you’re snapping pics outside in good light, but low-light is rough—no OIS, so don’t even try. Selfies are handled by an 8MP cam, also with dual LED flash, which is good enough for Snapchat and video calls.

5. Long-Lasting Battery

That 5000mAh battery is the real MVP here—easily lasts all day, even if you’re glued to your phone. Charging is 15W, which takes about 2 hours to fill up, so maybe start charging before you go to bed. No wireless charging, but honestly, at this price, who’s shocked?

The Tecno Spark Go 1S 4G is a pretty sweet deal if you just want a no-fuss phone that lasts all day, scrolls smoothly, and doesn’t freak out if you drop it in a puddle. Low-res screen and basic performance mean power users should look elsewhere, but for students, parents, or anyone who just wants a phone that works, it’s hard to beat. Against stuff like the Samsung Galaxy A04 or Itel A70? Honestly, this one punches above its weight—solid bang for your buck if your needs are simple.
