Launched in March 2025, the Tecno Camon 40 Pro 4G balances performance and camera quality. With a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset, and a 5200 mAh battery, it’s a 4G alternative to the Camon 40 Pro 5G. Can it compete with the Realme 14 Plus or Samsung Galaxy A26?

• No 5G at this price? Kind of lame in 2024, not going to lie.
• Main camera skipped out on OIS. Shaky hands beware.
• Plastic back—doesn’t feel fancy, just…plastic.
• Selfie cam can’t do 4K video. Bit of a bummer for vloggers.
. Design
Weighs just 179g and only 7.3mm thick, but still rocks IP68/IP69 protection and Gorilla Glass 7i up front. Sure, the plastic back’s not winning any awards, but the colors (especially Glacier White) look slick. Plus, the 3.5mm jack is basically a unicorn these days.
2. Display
That 6.78" AMOLED? Gorgeous. Sharp at 1080 x 2436 (~393 PPI), and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel smooth—even if it’s a step behind the 144Hz you get on the 5G version. Still, binge-watching or gaming? No complaints.
3. Solid Performance
MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU keep things chugging along for everyday stuff and a bit of gaming. With 8GB RAM (plus another 8GB virtual, because why not?), HiOS 15 on Android 15 feels snappy. ‘Circle to Search’ is a nifty extra.
4. Cameras
The 50MP main shooter delivers crisp daylight pics, and the 8MP ultrawide’s handy for group shots. But, yeah, no OIS means nighttime videos get wobbly. The 13MP selfie cam’s fine, just don’t expect 4K video magic.
5. Battery
5200mAh gives you all-day power, and 45W charging gets you to 50% in under half an hour. There’s even 10W reverse wired charging if you need to juice up your earbuds. No wireless charging, though—not great, not terrible for the price.
The Tecno Camon 40 Pro 4G nails the basics—bright AMOLED, tough build, and solid cameras. The headphone jack and microSD slot are little lifesavers. Lack of 5G and OIS stings, but if you’re torn between this, the Realme 14 Plus, or Samsung Galaxy A26, this one’s a killer 4G pick if you care about style and durability without breaking the bank.
