Samsung Galaxy M06 5G

The Samsung Galaxy M06 5G storms into 2025 as one of Samsung’s most affordable 5G offerings. With a 6.74-inch display, a hefty 5000 mAh battery, and the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, it’s built for budget-conscious users who want reliable performance and modern connectivity. But can it hold its own against rivals like the Poco M7 or Realme Narzo 70? After diving into its specs, I’m impressed by its value, but there are compromises. Let’s explore.

Pros

That absolute unit of a 5000 mAh battery? You’ll forget what “low battery anxiety” even means. Easy all-day usage, maybe even two if you’re light on the TikTok.

• Storage expandable to 1.5 TB—yeah, you read that right. Basically, chuck your external drives, you won’t need them.

• Four years of OS and security updates. In budget land, that’s like finding a unicorn in your backyard.

• 5G with support for 12 bands, so no more slow crawls on the bus (well, unless your network sucks).

Cons

PLS LCD display—meh. Not ugly, but doesn’t have that pop you get from AMOLED.

• 720p resolution on a 6.74-inch screen? That’s some early 2010s energy right there.

• The 2 MP depth camera…honestly, who’s that for? Feels like they slapped it on for the spec sheet.

• 25W charging. Not slow, not fast, just kinda…there.

Sleek and Practical Design

Weighs 191g, just 8mm thick—feels light, even with that chunky battery. Plastic back and frame? Yeah, it’s not fooling anyone, but at this price, who cares? It’s got IP54 splash and dust resistance, which is shockingly rare at under ?9k. Comes in Blazing Black or Sage Green. Stylish enough, but don’t expect anyone to mistake it for a flagship.

2. Functional Display

Big 6.74-inch PLS LCD with 90Hz refresh, so scrolling’s buttery. But that 720 x 1600 resolution? You’ll notice the pixels if you look for them. Gets up to 800 nits brightness, so it works outside. Not remotely in the same league as an AMOLED—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

3. Reliable Cameras

Main shooter is 50 MP and actually does a decent job in daylight. Night shots? Eh, don’t push your luck—no OIS, so it struggles. The 2 MP depth sensor is, well, basically useless. Selfie cam is 8 MP, good enough for video calls and Instagram stories, but don’t expect magic in low light.

4. Monster Battery Life

This battery just doesn’t quit. 5000 mAh (well, technically 4855 mAh, but close enough) gets you through a day and then some, even if you’re hammering 5G. 25W charging gets you about half a tank in 35 minutes. No wireless charging, but come on—look at the price.

5. Performance and Software

MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chugs along nicely for daily stuff and light gaming. AnTuTu score hovers around 422k, which is totally fine for the money. One UI Core 7.0 on Android 15 is clean and snappy, plus you get four years of updates. That’s wild for a cheap phone. Knox Vault is there for security, but Samsung still loves to sneak in some bloatware.

the Galaxy M06 5G is a budget banger. For ?8,749–?10,049, you’re getting a gigantic battery, loads of storage, and updates that’ll actually last. The display and cameras? Not winning any awards, but the 90Hz refresh and solid chipset keep it in the game against stuff like the Poco M7 or Realme Narzo 70. If you want a cheap 5G phone that’ll go the distance, you seriously gotta put this one on your shortlist.
