After using the OPPO Reno12 F 5G for six months, I’ve gotten a good feel for what this device offers. Upgrading from the OPPO Reno11, I was curious to see how much better the Reno12 F 5G would be, especially since I really liked the previous model. The Reno12 F 5G is a solid, everyday phone for anyone looking for great performance without going overboard on price.

Pros
Cons
1. Camera Performance
The OPPO Reno12 F 5G’s 50MP main camera is impressive, particularly in well-lit conditions. The 8MP ultrawide lens adds versatility, and the macro lens is a nice bonus, though it doesn’t offer the same quality as the main camera. Compared to the Reno11, the Reno12 F delivers sharper, more vibrant photos, especially outdoors.
2. Display Quality
The 6.4-inch AMOLED display is a pleasure to use. It’s bright and colorful, with a 90Hz refresh rate that makes scrolling feel smooth. Although it’s not the fastest refresh rate available, it strikes a good balance for most users. With a peak brightness of 1200 nits, visibility outdoors is good even in direct sunlight.
3. Performance
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050, the Reno12 F 5G delivers solid performance for its price. Multitasking is smooth, and the phone handles most apps without a hitch. The 8GB RAM ensures that performance remains stable even with multiple apps running. Overall, the phone provides a good balance of performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming.
4. Battery Life
The 4500mAh battery is decent, providing enough juice for a day of moderate use. The 33W fast charging helps compensate for this, allowing the phone to recharge quickly when needed. It’s not the best battery performer in its class, but it gets the job done for most daily tasks.
5. Fingerprint Sensor
The in-screen fingerprint sensor works well most of the time, but there are occasional issues with accuracy, especially when the screen is slightly smudged or if a screen protector is in use. It’s an area where OPPO could improve for future models.
Overall, the OPPO Reno12 F 5G offers a solid package for those looking for an affordable yet capable phone. While it lacks a few premium features, such as wireless charging and an official water resistance rating, its good camera performance, bright display, and solid performance make it a worthy choice for budget-conscious buyers.
