When I first got my hands on the OnePlus 10 Pro in January 2023, I was impressed. It felt fast, responsive, and had excellent charging speeds, which is a big plus for someone always on the go. However, after 1.5 years of use, things took a different turn.

But before we jump into the details of my experience, let's break down what this phone offers and why it became one of the most popular devices in the OnePlus lineup.

Key Features of OnePlus 10 Pro

1. Charging Speed

The standout feature for me, and many others, is the super-fast charging. With the 80W wired charger, the OnePlus 10 Pro gets from 0 to 100% in just about 30 minutes.

For someone who hates waiting, this is a lifesaver. Even the wireless charging at 50W is impressive, making it ideal for quick top-ups. If fast charging matters to you, this is hands down one of the best smartphones out there.

2. Display Quality

The 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED display offers fantastic clarity. Whether you're scrolling through social media, watching videos, or playing games, the 120Hz refresh rate ensures everything is smooth.

I particularly enjoyed the vividness of the colors and the fluidity of the display. It’s also sharp, with a resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels, making media consumption enjoyable.

3. Performance and Speed

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the OnePlus 10 Pro is as fast as you’d expect from a high-end smartphone. Multitasking, running heavy apps, and switching between tasks is seamless.

It’s been solid for my day-to-day use. That being said, after around 18 months of use, I noticed the phone occasionally gets glitchy

Apps started freezing, and the phone would slow down unpredictably. This wasn't something I expected after such a stellar initial performance.

4. Camera Capabilities

The camera setup on the OnePlus 10 Pro is versatile. The 48MP main sensor captures great detail, while the 50MP ultrawide lens is excellent for landscape shots or big group photos. The 8MP telephoto lens provides a good zoom, though I rarely use it. The 32MP front camera is fine for selfies, but it struggles in low light.

The biggest highlight is the ultrawide camera, which delivers impressive results. However, in some cases, I found that the post-processing could over-sharpen images, especially in challenging lighting conditions.

5. Battery Life

With a 5000mAh battery, the OnePlus 10 Pro delivers enough juice for a full day of moderate use. Even with regular use, including apps like Pokémon Go and audiobook playback, I could comfortably make it through the day.

However, heavier use, like extended gaming sessions, caused it to drain quickly. This brings me to a major issue I encountered after a year: overheating.

Final Thoughts

The OnePlus 10 Pro was a fantastic phone when I first bought it. The charging speed, display quality, and smooth performance made it a joy to use daily.

But over time, issues like overheating and glitchy performance showed up, especially during heavier use. If you're someone who uses your phone for basic tasks, this phone is a solid choice, particularly with its fast charging. However, for gamers or power users, the heating problems might be a major concern.

In short, it’s a phone with premium features, but it doesn’t hold up perfectly in the long run—something to keep in mind if you're considering it.
