Oppo Reno 14
Oppo Reno 14

The Oppo Reno 14 steps into 2025 as a compact yet capable mid-ranger, emphasizing style, AI features, and everyday usability. After testing, its lightweight design, bright display, and reliable performance stand out, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350. It's great for casual users wanting a balance of features without breaking the bank, but does it hold up against the Galaxy A36 or Vivo V50?

Pro
  • It’s freakin’ light—like, 187g light. You can actually use it one-handed without looking like you’re doing finger yoga.
  • That 6000mAh battery? It just does not quit. You’ll probably conk out before your phone does. And 80W charging means you’re back in business before you’ve finished your coffee.
  • Cameras are no joke. AI makes your pics pop, and videos are steady even if you’ve had too much caffeine.
  • The screen? Silky 120Hz, bright as heck, so you’re not squinting in the sun.
Contro
  • No microSD slot. Why is this still a thing in 2025? Ugh.
  • ColorOS still loves to shove random apps in your face. You’ll be deleting junk for a while.
  • Telephoto maxes out at 2x zoom. Other brands flex harder here.
  • Good luck finding it in certain countries. Oppo, can you not?

Design

Thin as a breadstick (7.3mm), and that 187g weight feels premium but not fragile. Flat edges, IP69, and colors that actually look cool—Mint Green is a vibe. The aluminum frame? Survives drops better than my last three phones, not even kidding.

2. Display

6.59-inch AMOLED, 120Hz smoothness—your eyes will thank you. HDR10+ is great for bingeing shows. Hits 1200 nits, which means you can use it outside without rage-quitting. Bezels are skinny, screen-to-body ratio is wild, but it’s not as insanely sharp as some mega-expensive QHD monsters.

3. Cameras

Main cam is 50MP and handles daylight like a champ. OIS keeps things crisp, ultra-wide gets the squad in the shot, and the 2x tele is nice for not-too-creepy portraits. AI Livephoto is fun for night snaps, but night video? Meh, still needs work. Front cam is also 50MP, so your selfies will slay.

4. Battery & Charging

6000mAh means you can forget your charger at home and not panic. AI does its magic for battery life. 80W charging = about 50 minutes to full. Wireless charging actually works, unlike some brands’ weak attempts. Beats the Vivo V50 for endurance, hands down.

5. Software

ColorOS 15 packs some wild AI features (Hyper Boost for games, deep fake detection—because, why not?). Promised updates for 4 years OS/5 years’ security, which is decent. You’ll want to clear out the bloatware, though. Multitasking is buttery, split-screen is handy.

The Oppo Reno 14 is a killer pick if you want something stylish, tough, and battery-packed, it’s pretty fair for what you get. Expandable storage would’ve made it a home run, but if you’re cool with the built-in storage and want a phone that won’t weigh you down, this one’s a winner. If you’re all about the bells and whistles, maybe look at the Pro. Otherwise? Go for it.
