I’ve tested many budget smartphones, and most struggle with performance, cameras, or battery life. That’s why I was curious about the Infinix Hot 50.
It skips flashy gimmicks and focuses on what matters—solid performance, reliable cameras, and great battery life.
Unlike competitors like the Redmi Note 12 and Realme C55, the Infinix Hot 50 aims to deliver a smooth, dependable experience at an affordable price. Let’s examine what makes it stand out and where it could improve.

Pros
Cons:
1. MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Processor
I tested the Infinix Hot 50 against other budget phones, and the Dimensity 6300 processor pleasantly surprised me.
In day-to-day tasks like browsing, social media, and even light gaming, this phone holds up well. It’s quick to respond, and apps load without much lag. While it’s not flagship fast, it easily outperforms the Realme C55, which tends to stutter under load.
Plus, the 6nm architecture keeps power consumption low, pairing well with the large battery.
2. 120Hz Refresh Rate
I’m always skeptical about budget phones advertising higher refresh rates. A 120Hz refresh rate sounds great, but can it handle it?
With the Infinix Hot 50, scrolling through apps and social media feels smooth and snappy. Compared to the Redmi Note 12’s standard 60Hz panel, the Hot 50 clearly delivers a more responsive experience.
Sure, the resolution is just 720p, but at this price point, the smooth interactions make up for it.
3. Camera Performance
Let’s talk cameras. The 48MP main sensor delivers solid results in daylight—better than I expected, to be honest. Photos come out sharp and clear, though things get dicey in low light. The 2MP depth sensor feels like a filler, but it helps with portrait shots.
Compared to similar models, I found the Hot 50 slightly ahead of the Realme C55 in terms of photo clarity, but not by much.
The 8MP selfie camera, though, is where things feel basic. It gets the job done for video calls and quick snaps but lacks the sharpness and detail of competitors like the Redmi Note 12. At this price, I wasn’t expecting stellar results, but it’s something to note if selfies are a priority.
4. 5000mAh Battery
One area where the Infinix Hot 50 excels is battery life. With its 5000mAh battery, I easily went through a full day of mixed usage—calls, browsing, social media, and a bit of video streaming.
Even with the 120Hz refresh rate, the battery didn’t drain as fast as I thought it would. Charging isn’t blazing fast at 18W, but it’s reasonable for this price range. It also outlasts competitors like the Realme C55, which tends to drain quicker during extended use.
5. Android 14 with XOS 14.5
In terms of software, XOS 14.5 on top of Android 14 offers a pretty clean experience. While it doesn’t give you the barebones feel of stock Android, the extra features are mostly helpful rather than bloatware.
From smart gestures to customizable themes, it adds some personality without being intrusive. It’s more polished than previous versions and better than what you get on most phones in this price bracket.
After spending some time with the Infinix Hot 50, I must say that it’s one of the better-budget smartphones available right now.
It won’t knock your socks off with fancy features, but it does the basics really well. The processor holds up, the battery is reliable, and the 120Hz refresh rate adds a touch of smoothness you rarely see at this price point.
In the budget category, the Infinix Hot 50 is a solid contender, and in some areas, it even punches above its weight.
