Features of Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

1. Foldable Display

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s 8.0-inch LTPO OLED screen is the star of the show. It’s perfect for multitasking and content consumption. When folded, the outer 6.3-inch display gives you a regular phone experience, but unfold it, and you get an almost tablet-like space for work or entertainment.

I found that I didn’t need to open it all the time—like Samsung’s foldables, which seem to push users to constantly switch to the bigger screen.

2. Build and Design

Google didn’t skimp on materials. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold feels solid in hand with its Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and aluminum frame.

One downside, though, is the thickness when folded. It’s noticeably heavier and bulkier than a typical phone, which means it takes up more space in your pocket. But that's a fair trade-off for the larger display.

3. Cameras

The camera setup on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a winner, especially if you’re into photography. I tested the wide-angle lens and was impressed with how it handles both day and night shots. There’s also a neat feature where the subject of your photos can see a preview of themselves on the rear display while you take the shot—a nice touch when you’re photographing others.

However, while the camera quality is strong, it's not a night-and-day difference compared to the Pixel 9 Pro.

4. Performance

Powered by the Google Tensor G4 chip, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold handles anything I throw at it—from apps running simultaneously in split-screen mode to resource-intensive games.

The phone’s multitasking ability is something I’ve come to rely on. Being able to work on two apps side by side feels like having a small computer in your hands.

5. Battery Life

At 4650mAh, the battery is pretty impressive for a foldable. I was able to get through an entire day without worrying about charging. It’s not going to match the longevity of non-folding phones, but given the larger screen and extra power needed, it performs admirably.

However, the charging speed isn’t as fast as some other phones in this price range. While 21W wired charging isn’t sluggish, it’s outpaced by other premium devices.

Wireless charging works well, but be mindful of the coil’s placement—it’s slightly lower than usual, so you’ll need to align it carefully on charging stands.

Final Thoughts

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is an exciting step forward for foldable technology, with plenty of practical features that make it more than just a gimmick. The foldable display, multitasking options, and strong performance stand out.

While it’s not without its flaws—particularly in the size and charging department—it's a phone that delivers a unique experience.
