Pros
Cons
1. Camera
The 64MP main camera is hands-down one of my favorite features of the Pixel 7a. It consistently delivers crisp, detailed photos, even in low-light environments.
Whether it’s capturing everyday moments or landscapes, the results are always impressive. The 13MP ultrawide camera is also fantastic for group shots or wider scenes, offering a lot of versatility in a phone that doesn’t cost a fortune.
2. Performance
With the Google Tensor G2 chipset, the Pixel 7a handles pretty much everything I throw at it. Apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth, and there’s no noticeable lag even when switching between multiple apps. Gaming performance is good but it's not aimed at heavy gamers.
One thing I appreciate is how optimized the system is with 8GB RAM. Even with several apps running in the background, I never experienced any slowdowns.
3. Display
The 6.1-inch OLED screen has been great for watching videos and browsing. It offers vibrant colors and deep blacks. The 90Hz refresh rate makes everything look smoother. While it’s not the biggest screen, I’ve found it perfectly balanced for one-handed use.
One small downside: there’s no always-on display, but the screen is bright enough that it’s visible outdoors, even in direct sunlight.
4. Battery
The 4385mAh battery has consistently lasted me a full day with moderate use. I’ve been using it for calls, streaming videos, and browsing, and I rarely need to charge it before the day ends.
Charging isn’t the fastest at 18W wired, but if you’re like me and usually plug in your phone overnight, it’s not a dealbreaker.
5. Design
While the Pixel 7a isn’t the slimmest phone I’ve used, the slightly thicker design actually makes it feel more robust.
The plastic back might not feel as premium as glass, but it’s more resistant to drops. The IP67 rating for dust and water resistance is another great addition for those water drops.
The Google Pixel 7a is an excellent mid-range smartphone that offers great value for its price. After using it for a few months, I must say it meets all the important needs—performance, camera quality, and battery life.
Sure, the fingerprint sensor is a bit unreliable, and charging speeds aren’t the fastest, but these are minor inconveniences for what you get at this price.
