I’ve spent a fair amount of time with the Vivo Y20, and for a budget device, it surprised me with its reliability. It’s not going to win any awards for advanced performance, but for anyone looking for a simple, affordable smartphone that gets the basics right, this one delivers. 

Its standout feature is the 5000mAh battery that kept me going all day, even with heavy use. If you need a dependable device without the frills, the Vivo Y20 might just be the phone for you.

If you’re tired of constantly charging your phone, the Vivo Y20 solves that problem with its 5000mAh battery. 

I used it heavily throughout the day—scrolling social media, watching videos, and running apps—and still had juice left at night. It’s a reliable battery performer.

2. Camera Setup

The Vivo Y20 offers a basic yet functional triple-camera system. The 13MP primary camera works well for daylight shots, capturing decent details and colors. 

The 2MP macro and depth sensors are nice extras but aren’t game-changers. They add some variety but don’t expect professional-grade shots. The 8MP front camera delivers solid selfies, though low-light shots are less impressive.

3. Display

The display on the Vivo Y20 is a good size for watching videos, browsing, or using social media. The 6.51-inch screen gives you enough real estate to comfortably view content. 

However, the 720p resolution falls short when compared to Full HD displays available on other budget phones. It’s still good for most tasks.

The Vivo Y20 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM. For my use, which involved running social media apps, browsing, and light gaming, it handled things well enough. 

Don’t expect blazing speeds, though. If you plan on running heavier apps or multitasking a lot, you’ll notice the phone starts to lag.

5. Funtouch OS Experience

Vivo’s Funtouch OS 10.5 is a layered experience on top of Android 10. It comes with useful features but also packs in some bloatware, which can clutter the interface. You can customize the look and feel of the system, though I personally found it a bit overwhelming at first. 

After tweaking the settings, it became easier to navigate. If you’re familiar with Vivo devices, this won’t be much of an issue.

Final Thoughts

The Vivo Y20 is a solid choice for users who need a reliable, no-frills smartphone. It handles everyday tasks well and has a battery that won’t quit on you halfway through the day. 

While it’s not the best for demanding apps or heavy multitasking, it delivers where it counts for most users—battery life, usability, and a decent camera for its price.

However, if you’re after higher-resolution displays, you might want to explore other options.
