Realme Narzo 80x
Realme Narzo 80x

Set to launch on April 9, 2025, the Realme Narzo 80x 5G is a budget-friendly 5G phone targeting young users and casual gamers, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 120Hz IPS LCD. With a 50MP camera and 5000mAh battery, it aims to compete with the Vivo T4 Lite 5G and Infinix Hot 60 5G+. After reviewing its specs and early impressions, its affordability and smooth display impress, but its processor and camera simplicity are limitations. Is it a budget winner for 2025?

Pros

Scrolling and gaming? That 120Hz IPS LCD makes things feel buttery. Not flagship-tier, but snappy enough.

• You get a microSD slot (up to 2TB, which is overkill for most), plus a headphone jack—so yeah, you don’t have to throw out your old wired earbuds yet.

• 45W charging on a 5000mAh battery? Fast as heck in this price bracket.

• Lightweight (185g) and just 7.9mm thick—easy to shove in your pocket, doesn’t feel like a brick.

Cons

It’s only rocking an HD+ (720p) screen, so stuff looks a bit fuzzy next to the sharper Realme 14T 5G. Honestly, you’ll notice if you care about crisp details.

• Dimensity 6300 chip kinda taps out if you try to run heavy games like Genshin Impact—don’t expect miracles.

• Mono speaker is, well, mono. Audio is just “meh.”

• IP54 water resistance is fine for the occasional splash, but not as tough as the C75 5G’s IP64. Don’t go swimming with it, basically.

• No ultrawide or macro camera lenses, just the basics. So, not a great pick for wannabe Insta photographers.

Design Vibes

Glass on the front, plastic everywhere else, and splash-proof enough for a drizzle (IP54). At 7.9mm and 185g, it’s pretty dang light. That Blaze Orange color? Screams “look at me!” Definitely has a student or casual vibe—don’t expect it to feel as fancy as pricier phones.

2. Screen Time

It’s a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with 120Hz refresh, so scrolling is smooth, gaming is decent (think FreeFire, not PUBG Ultra). But... resolution is just 720 x 1604 (264 PPI), so you’ll spot some pixelation, especially if you watch a lot of high-res vids. With 625 nits, it’s not super bright outdoors either. The screen covers 85% of the front, but it’s not as punchy as AMOLED panels.

3. Cameras

Main cam’s 50MP with PDAF, handles daylight shots pretty well—colors pop, but don’t expect miracles. Depth sensor is there for those blurry-background portrait shots. No ultrawide, no macro. Night shots? Kinda noisy, especially with no OIS. Selfie cam is 8MP, which is fine for TikToks or Instagram, and video maxes out at 1080p/30fps (so, nothing fancy).

4. Battery & Charging

5000mAh battery will get you through the day unless you’re a screen junkie. That 45W charging is zippy—half full in 25 minutes or so. Beats out some rivals like the C73 5G, but if you’re after mega battery life, the Realme C75 5G with 6000mAh is better. No wireless charging, but c’mon, didn’t expect that at this price.

5. Software Stuff

Runs Realme UI 6.0 (on Android 15), which is actually pretty clean. AI Smart Signal sounds fancy, but mostly means decent connectivity. Minimal bloatware (finally!). 8GB RAM handles most day-to-day stuff, but the Dimensity 6300 isn’t built for heavy-duty gaming or multitasking. You’ll get two years of OS updates, three years of security—about average for cheap phones, but not as good as Samsung’s update promise.

So, the Realme Narzo 80x 5G—dropping in April 2025—is a killer deal if you’re hunting for budget 5G. Gets you a fast screen, expandable storage, speedy charging, and a lightweight build. Downside? Screen isn’t super sharp, camera’s basic, and the processor isn’t a powerhouse. If you just want a simple, fast, modern phone for the essentials, it’s a solid pick. Gamers and camera nerds? Probably look elsewhere. Everyone else—yeah, this thing’s worth a look.
