Pros
  • Literally the thinnest foldable you’ll find anywhere. Like, 8.8mm folded? That’s wild. Unfolded, it’s basically a wafer.
  • Cameras? Oh man, they slap. You get a telephoto and an ultra-wide that actually pull their weight, not just filler.
  • Both screens are OLED, both are super bright (5000 nits is kind of bananas), and colors just pop.
  • Battery’s a beast: 5820mAh. Easily crushes the all-day test.
Cons
  • No microSD slot, so you’re stuck with whatever storage you buy. Annoying.
  • The camera bump is a bit… much. Kinda ruins the phone’s super-slim vibe.
  • Good luck finding it in the States. Honor still hasn’t gotten its act together for a proper US release.
  • Four years of OS updates, five for security—decent, but Samsung’s out here flexing with seven.
  1. Design Vibes

This thing is an engineering flex, no lie. Folded, it’s thinner than most “normal” flagships (even the S25 Ultra). The hinge feels sturdy, and the crease? Shrunk down so much it’s almost not there. That octagonal camera dome looks kinda futuristic, too. And the colors—Dawn Gold, Ivory White—are straight-up classy. Oh, and it’ll survive a dust storm and a splash fight.

  1. Screen Time

The main 7.95-inch display is pure eye candy. High res, 120Hz, and bright enough to use outside in the sun. The cover screen? Just as good, so you don’t have to compromise when it’s folded. Side by side with a Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Magic V5’s bezels are basically non-existent, and yeah, stylus support is there if you’re the artsy type.

  1. Cameras

Here’s where it gets spicy. The 50MP main shooter brings the heat, even in crappy lighting—almost on Huawei Pura 80 Ultra’s level (yeah, I said it). The telephoto can zoom up to 100x, though honestly, after 10x things get fuzzy. Ultrawide’s clean, doesn’t warp your landscape shots. Dual selfie cams on both screens, plus 3D face unlock. It might not beat Huawei’s best, but it definitely outguns Samsung’s foldables for night shots.

  1. Battery & Charging

5820mAh—huge for a foldable. Easily gets through a full day, maybe more unless you’re binge-watching everything. Wired charging hits 50% in about 25 minutes, and wireless isn’t far behind. It’s not the fastest out there, but you’re not waiting around forever.

  1. Software Stuff

MagicOS 9.0.1 on Android 15 feels smooth and actually intuitive. Triple Split Screen is great for multitasking (think juggling docs, web, and chat all at once). Some neat AI tricks, too—like deepfake detection. The only bummer is that update promise: four years for OS, five for security. Not bad, but Samsung’s just doing it better.

The Honor Magic V5 is basically a mic drop for foldable phones. Super thin, monster battery, killer screens, and cameras that don’t suck, and built like a tank. Performance is flagship-level, no surprise with Snapdragon 8 Elite inside. Sure, the price is up there, and the camera bump’s kind of obnoxious, plus you can’t just pop in a microSD card. Also, if you’re in the US, well… good luck. But if you’re chasing the next big thing in foldable and want something that looks and feels premium, this one’s worth a serious look. Not perfect, but damn close.
